Robert Maples Obituary

Robert D. Maples, 75, a long-time resident of Colorado Springs and member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, died April 5, 2006 in his home. He was a truck driver before he retired. Mr. Maples was born January 6, 1931, in Luther, Oklahoma. He was previously married April 15, 1950 to Mary E. Maples, who preceded him in death on March 1, 1999. He is survived by Glenda F. Maples, whom he married on September 5, 1999. He is also survived by two sons, William E. (Debbie) and Daniel(Sherry); two daughters: Roberta Strobridge and Kathlene Nyberg (Chuck), four step-children: Tom Durham (Melody), Larry Durham, and Joe Durham. He is also survived by two brothers: James and Wayne, and 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 9 at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Avenue. Services will be at 10:30 am on Monday at Swan-Law Cascade Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road. Memorial Contributions may be made in his memory to: Pleasant Valley Ba ptist Church, 3010 W. Bijou Street Colorado Springs, CO 80904.

Glenda and family, I am so sorry to hear about Bob. He was such a kind and gentle man. I enjoyed knowing him. He will be greatly missed. God Bless you all during this time of mourning. Love, Jackie
