Sandra e-mailed me about Bob. It has been many, many years since I have seen or spoken with Bob & Betty, but the memories of being friends in HS is still endearing. Bob was such a great young person; very caring and polite -always a gentleman with a wonderful sense of humor. My sincere regards and prayers are with you,Betty Lou and your family. My husband was there to greet him. God Bless!

My condolenses go out the the McAllister family. Lt Col Mc may not remember me, but I certainly remember him. He was my commander at RAF Mildenhall in the 70s. I was a young, wild, out of control troop who stayed in trouble. However, for some reason, Lt Col Mc always took it easy on me when it came to discipline. Apparently, he saw something in me that I didn't see in myself. I think he would be proud to know that I retired as a Chief Master Sgt in 2004. As a matter of fact, Jim Harris, who is listed on this registry, was our 1st Sgt then, and he was in attendance at my pin on cermony and retirement ceremony.
Lt Col McAlliser was good man, a a great human being. He will be sorely missed.

I have known and respected Bob since high school. We were in the high school band and orchestra together. In 1956 Bob and I both married a Betty Lou. I have known his Betty Lou since 5th grade. Bob spent 23 years in the Air force, I spent 22 years in the Army. We both retired as Lt. Col. We met again at our 40th high school reunion. Bob was always a good friend, friendly to all, and will be missed by all who knew him. Please give our condolences to Betty Lou and his daughters. Bob will live long in our memories as a man whom we all should wish to emulate. Our thoughts and prayers are with Betty Lou and family.

My wife Jan and I first met Bob in 1975 at RAF Mildenhall England . He turned out to be my hero and quiet warrior. He was instrumental in getting me assigned to the prestigious USAFE IG team and subsequent promotion to Lt. Colonel. Even after 30 years, I am sitting here crying. I miss him. I will miss his weekly jokes on the net for the last 20 years or so. I have always missed his 5 O'clock “tea parties” Friday afternoons after work in his office. Mr Jim Beam or some of his friends were usually in attendance. I consider it a privilege to have known him. I have never met more of a gentleman or loving husband or father. Jan and I send our condolences to his family. I am so glad that I was able to see Bob and Betty a few years ago and go to a game at the academy with them. Interestingly my 8th grandchild was born 30 Jul 2008. Floyd Edick Lt Col Ret. [email protected]

My heart is heavy since hearing of Bob's passing. I went thru high school with him and Betty. He truly was a wonderful person and friend. I last saw him and Betty Lou at our last H.S. reunion, it saddens me that there will not be another. My love and prayers go out to Betty Lou and his daughters.

Although I didn't know Bob during his Air Force Career but had the occasion to work with him and go TDY with him while working for the Air Force as a contractor. He was a wonderful man and loved Betty and his home state very much. We talked about our Air Force Careers all the time. He will be missed deeply.

I am still stunned and saddened by Bob's passing. I have fond memories of him from early childhood, even though I didn't get to see him and his family often. I remember Bob's humor and caring. His calls to me during my mother's illness and death were especially sweet and valued. I know his family will miss him. He was always so proud of his family, and I looked forward to 'catching up' on all the news in the Christmas letters he and Betty Lou would send.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you all through this time.

Bob and I served in England at the same time. He and his family lived a couple of roads from us on RAF Lakenheath. We again lived a couple of blocks from him and Betty in Colo Sprgs. I also worked for Martin Marietta/Lockheed Martin. We car pooled for almost 6 years to the Denver facility and traveled many many safe miles together. He transferred to Falcon AFB and I followed shortly thereafter and he became my boss in facilities for the Star Wars program. He was a great boss. I will miss him as we have stayed in touch since our retirements for the past 13 years going to dinners and via e-mails. Will continue to be in touch with Betty. Your Friend Jim

Bob was so kind and helpful to me (as was Betty) when I first started to work for him at the Air Force Academy, when I had family problems, and then again when I arrived in England to work at the same RAF Base. He always seemed to put others' needs ahead of his own. He was a great gentleman.

Bob was an incredible person...so very inspirational, great sense of humor, and an honor for our Country! He was a fabulous husband and father, and the best Brother-in-Law anyone could ever have.
He will be missed. May he rest in peace.
