Robert "Bob" Clark Pendergast died February 5, 2025 at Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care in Colorado Springs folllowing a short illness and hospitalization at Penrose Main Hospital.
Born in Wichita, Kansas, on July 15, 1939, he was adopted shortly after birth by Louie "Glen" and Eva Pendergast. He had one younger sister, Marilyn.
Bob attended North High School in Wichita and Wichita State University. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and in the Army Reserves for four years. While serving in the Army, he played trumpet and coronet in the band. He moved to Colorado Springs while in the Army and after his military service went to work at Sears in the Southgate Shopping Center.
Bob was a born salesman and had a great career selling tires and appliances. He later opened his own home improvement business, where he specialized in selling windows. Bob had an incredible sense of humor and was a great storyteller; he kept his friends and family laughing at all the tales of working with the public for so many years.
Bob's first wife was named Jan. Together they had three children: Tracy, Scott and Cristin. Bob and Jan were later divorced and he married Connie (nee Adams). Bob and Connie had many friends and together they enjoyed socializing, dining out and traveling, especially to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where they had a timeshare. Bob loved to garden, play golf and watch baseball games. Bob and Connie adored their cats, Arnie and Milky Way. Tragically, Connie passed away from cancer in 2001.
Several years following Connie's death, Bob entered a loving relationship with Sandy Pfeil. They remained committed to each other for a number of years.
Bob continued to make friends wherever he went. His magnetic personality charmed everyone he met. In his later years he moved to the Health Care Resort Assisted Living Center, where he befriended every resident, employee and visitor, entertaining them with all his stories.
Bob dearly loved his children and looked forward to their visits and phone calls. He had special nicknames for all of them and other people and places. He was delighted to be blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Tracy and her children Kylie and Kody and their children and grandchildren; Cristin and her son Trevor and his son; Bob's son Scott and his son Luke. Survivors also include his sister Marilyn Lorince and her sons; his sister in-law, Donna Prewitt and her husband David; Donna's daughter, Kristin and her husband and sons.
Burial will take place at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, 80925 at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025. A Celebration of Life will take place the following day at the Health Care Resort, 2818 Grand Vista Circle, Colorado Springs, 80904, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
