Robert Perry Obituary

ROBERT "BOB" J

PERRY

In Loving Memory

1949 - 2021

Bob, 72, passed away in Colorado Springs, CO after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born in Pontiac, Michigan to Joseph L. Perry and Deloris G. (Uban) Perry.

Bob proudly served in HHC 1st Bn 17th Inf Div Eighth Army as a medic in Vietnam and was a hero to many.

He was a man of many talents and many different careers. He started as design engineer for General Motors in Detroit. In 1975 he moved to Colorado and worked for Ampex Corp., Nighthawk, ATEL, AMI, Minco, Sears Parts and Repair, USAA and was a Certified Pharmacy Technician. He thoroughly enjoyed working and helping people and had a great sense of humor and always cheerful.

Bob enjoyed gardening and fishing. He always said that a bad day fishing was better than a good day doing something else. It never mattered if he caught any fish, he loved being outdoors in the peace and quiet and sunshine.

He met the love of his life, Margie, at Ampex. They were married in 1992 but together for 35 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lelia and brother James.

He is survived by his wife, Margie Perry, sons, Kenneth, Douglas and Timothy, 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Per his wishes his corneas were donated to 2 people and his body was donated to science.

In remembrance donations can be made to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. (Please include: In Honor of Robert Perry)

A memorial gathering will be determined at a later date.

Bob and I started at Ampex around the same time back when manual drafting was the rage. I so enjoyed our lunches and breaks and pool games on Fridays, as well as working with him. Bob had an unmatched sense of humor that I will sorely miss.
