Robert Plumer Obituary

1928 – 2007 Robert Irwin Plumer, age 79, passed away on August 11, 2007 in Colorado Springs with his loving wife at his side. He was born to Lewis and Annette (Rosner) Plumer in New York City, New York on March 23, 1928. Robert was quite a character – a very good pilot and horseman, who raced Jaguar Motorcars for years in New York. He was past President of the Eastern Conference Racing Club in New York. Rob was a top fur designer in New York and originated "fun furs" – mixing furs and patterns in new designs. He moved to Los Angeles "after it rained for 30 days straight" in New York City. He became a land developer and was instrumental in bringing the London Bridge to Lake Havasu City in Arizona. Rob loved to travel and Hong Kong was his favorite city – he became an expert in antique Chinese porcelain and carvings. Rob loved to cook and make a big mess in the kitchen, but his cooking was well worth the trouble. Rob loved "Pikes Peak" and really enjoyed viewing it from his porch, calling it "his mountain" Rob is survived by Rebecca, his wife of 40 plus years, his daughter Kimberly, his son Brian, his daughter Dawn and his precious granddaughter, Erin Kimberly. He is also survived by his brothers, Mark and Paul Plumer and their children. A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the "Celebration of Life Chapel" 5440 North Union, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80918, ph. 719-599-7979.
