Robert Schneider Obituary

July 31, 1950 - May 9, 2008. Michael was born and grew up in Merced, California and is survived by his mother, Erlene Schneider and younger sister, Stephanie Knox, both in California. His father, Rudy Schneider, is deceased. Being a committed friend for over 25 years, Michael recently moved back to Colorado to spend time with his best friend who has terminal prostate cancer. Michael loved being up in the mountains hiking, biking and being in the outdoors. He was also a voracious reader, dabbled in photography, enjoyed music and had a great sense of humor. He was well loved. Michael was employed by Cheyenne Village in Manitou Springs and was dedicated to the individuals he worked with. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, May 17th at Seven Minute Springs Park in Manitou Springs at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Cheyenne Village or to Pikes Peak Hospice.

Well Kiddo, I guess we've had our share of laughter and tears, but it was always the laughter I remember the most about my wonderful nephew, Mike. Whether it was a trick he was pulling on someone like wonderful little snakes and critters he used to share with his Grandma or jokes he loved to share with everyone, especially his little one liners that he used to zing in on the conversations.
You out-foxed many doctors just as you did your Mom, or so you thought. I hope you know how many lives you touched and how much joy you brought to those around you.
We lost you much to soon, but you will never be forgotten, just as you will be in our hearts forever.
Give Grandpa and Grandma a big hug and kiss for me. I'll love you always, Aunt Susie

Well Kiddo, I guess we've had our share of laughter and tears. It was always the fun and laughter that I remember the most about my wonderful nephew, Mike. Whether it was a trick he was pulling on someone, like wonderful little snakes and critters he use to share with his grandma who hated the wonderful little creatures, or the jokes he loved to share with everyone and of course his little one liners that he always managed to zing into a conversation just to let you know he was there. You baffled many doctors, just as you did your mom, or so you thought. I hope you know how many lives you have touched and how much joy you have brought to many. We've lost you way to soon, but you will never be forgotten and you will always live in our hearts forever. Give Grandad and Grandma a big hug and kiss for me. I''ll miss you and love you always.........Aunt Susie

To Michael:

I'll miss you as a little boy riding on the vaccuum sweeper. I'll miss you as the little boy gathering "horney toads". I'll miss you as the boy making me laugh, you were my "Robin Williams".

I'll miss your intelligent talks about music, books and old barns, which you shot a wonderful picture of one for me.

I guess I'll just miss you and always love you.

Mike was my big brother, my only brother. What a character he was. We together and independently got in and out of mischief on a consistent basis as kids. I learned alot of things that only a big brother could teach you. Cross country skiing in Yosemite for the first time as my brother blazed an unknown trail forward to who knows where. Hiking in 100+ degree temperature for hours to get to a secret swimming hole that only my big brother knew about. And knowing full well he knew the way out becoz he was my big brother. I loved him. He was cool. I miss who my big brother was. I am so very thankful and appreciate every thing that Larry, Shawne and extended family did for Mike and how you loved him and helped him in these past years. Not everyone has that in their lives. You know who you are and I thank all of you. We all have a common bond and a common loss, my big brother, your friend. We love you Mike.

Mike was my cousin and I have a lot of great memories that I will cherish forever. We had a lot of big laughs together and I will always appreciate his love and appreciation for all people and the great outdoors! Mike was truly one of a kind and I will forever hold him in my heart.

Michael - you've always "had your room here with us" over the past 20+ years - and there will forever be one in our hearts, full of all the memories we've shared together. What an unbelievable loss. You were just here....it doesn't seem possible that you've left already, but it must have bee your time for some reason we don't have to understand, I guess. It hurts so much not to be able to see you now, but we feel you constantly - and love you always. Shawne & Larry

Mike has been gone a week and he is already missed dearly. I was really looking forward to hanging out with him this summer and doing some hiking and biking. He was going to be a great 'uncle Mike' to my husband and I's baby boy.
