Robert Scott Longfellow Obituary

Robert Scott Longfellow, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014 in Colorado Springs. Scott was born on June 2, 1951 in Chicago, Ill. to the late Robert and Dolores Longfellow. Scott is survived by his sister Elaine, two nieces, a nephew and Mary Dunny.

After high school Scott came to Colorado on a football scholarship to play for CU Boulder. After attending CU he transferred to SCSC in Pueblo. After graduation from SCSC he went on to NASA where he became an astronaut for the Apollo program. After retiring, Scott joined the CIA, where he worked protecting our country.

Scott returned to Colorado Springs and started a successful roofing business, which he owned until his passing. S&L Roofing, the company had branches in Las Vegas, Chicago, Denver and Grand Junction.

Besides his roofing company his greatest accomplishment was Scott's dedication to his friends. Scott will be remembered as a caring and giving friend, and as someone whose greatest gift was his heart who he freely gave to all.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, Jan 18 at 1 PM at 44 Broadmoor Ave.

A life long friend, since childhood. The inventor of high school speed dating and one of the toughest guys I've ever known. Scott was one smart and clever guy. Fearless in business and life. Great memories. I'm crushed

May Scott rest in peace
He had a terrific sense of humor. I met him in 1996 by his mom Dolores house. He had terrific friends in Colorado who loved him.

You will be missed.

Elaine, my deepest condolences to you and your family during this difficult time. Scott was a good friend to so many he met throughout his life and he will be truly missed by all that knew him. I can remember the fun times we had in High School or just hanging out at your parents house or even the nickname that Scott gave me that, on occasion, can be still heard today. I'm just grateful to have such wonderful memories of your brother that will stay with me forever. Scott, may you rest in peace my friend. Always, Harv.
