Robert Smallwood Obituary

Bob Smallwood passed away February 8, 2009. He was born and raised in Southern California. He gave his time to Uncle Sam in the Army before he started working with the post office. He furthered his education at Cal State, Northridge. Upon graduation he joined the US Army Audit Agency. After retirement he started working for H&R Block where he gave 17 years of service to many clients. He survived more than 48 years of marriage to his wife, Carol, and is survived by his children, Ron, Sandy, Tom and Linda; two brothers, Tom and Jim; and six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gladys; sister, Mary Jane; brother, Dick; and his son, Walter. Bob was filled with a gracious spirit and loved helping people. He was an usher at Holy Apostles Catholic Church and a volunteer at the Marion House Soup Kitchen. He will be missed by many. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 16, at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 4925 N. Carefree Circle, Colorado Springs. Interment will be private.
