Stager Family,
As you know - this was not an ordinary man. He made significant and inspiring impressions on me as an Undergraduate Engineering Student. His concern for the student was well beyond conventional. His broad spectrum of ability within (and even outside) his field was also very uncommon. He will be missed for certain - but his legacy does live on - I can personally attest to that.

To the Stager family,
I too was an engineering student at the U of W, and fondly remember Dr Stager and his Design Course. As first year students it was our only pure engineering course and Dr Stagers energy in the class really made it enjoyable.
Please accept my sympathy over the loss of a great educator, and a very nice person.

Dear Joan, John and family,
I am very very sorry to hear about Bob's passing a few days ago. He had an incredible impact on me on a very personal level over the course of my years in Windsor. I remember very clearly when he visited my high school in 1980 and heavily influenced my decision to become an engineer. He also was one of my favourite teachers and inspired me to become a professor as well. He also helped me write my first paper, teach my first class and informally guided me during my years as a graduate student. And, finally, his approach to engineering design, particularly with his social impact modelling approach, predated the concept of sustainable engineering by quite a few years. He was truly one of the best professors I have ever had the privilege of learning from and working with. Unfortunately, I can't join you for the funeral, but I want you to know that my thoughts are with you. Please accept my deepest heartfelt condolences.
Jim
