Robert Starks Obituary

Robert Marsh Starks, age 86, died in Colorado Springs on March 1, 2017.

Bob was a career trust officer at The First National Bank of Colorado Springs, and for many years, served as the head of that trust department. His co-workers remember his mentorship and wry sense of humor. Eschewing email in favor of a Smith-Corona and a postage stamp, he bestowed upon his friends numerous typewritten notes, news clippings, and New Yorker cartoons.

Bob was born in Dodge City, Kansas to Harry and Gladys Starks and moved to Colorado Springs to attend Colorado College. He and his wife, Helen, celebrated fifty years of marriage in May 2016.

Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, Harry and William Starks, and sister, Betty Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Starks; daughter, Amy Starks; son, Robert Marsh Starks, II; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service, 11:00AM, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, 420 North Nevada Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to First United Methodist Church, Attn: TV Ministry, 420 North Nevada Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903, or Colorado College, P.O. Box 1117, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80901.
