Robert Douglas "Tommy" Thompson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully July 3, 2022, at the age of 90, in his home surrounded by his family. Tommy was born in Saratoga, Wyoming on August 29, 1931, to his parents Orville and Eva. He was a kind and loving partner to his wife, Toni, for 68 years. Tommy served in the U.S. Navy. He began his career with Hewlett Packard in California. In 1964, he and his family moved to Manitou Springs, and he retired from HP after 30 years of service. After retiring, he helped his son-in-law with his lawn sprinkler business and worked part-time at Patty Jewett Golf Course. In his youthful years, he enjoyed golfing, softball, skiing/instructing, camping, dancing, woodworking, playing the guitar, and traveling. He is preceded in death by his wife, Toni, parents Orville and Eva, brother Orville, sister Joyce, and daughter, Kimberly. He is survived by his daughter, Leslie (Bob) Cummins and son, Robert Thompson Jr. He also leaves behind his six grandchildren: Toni, Shannon, Stacie, Chad, Tammy, and Robert III, as well as 12 great-grandchildren: Kyle, Evan, Madison, Tanner, Ryder, Genevieve, Caelan, RJ, Trevor, Gabby, Mckayla, and Collin.

He was my father in law for a brief time and though we didn't spend much time together because we lived so far apart, I always found him to be strong, gentle and kind. I'm sure his family misses him dearly. My love to all of you.

I met him, his wife and Leslie, Kim and Bobby when I was 11 years old and we moved in across the street. He was a great dad and husband and drove a way cool truck. My thoughts and prayers to the family.
