Robert Wolstenholme

October 20, 2021

Robert Michael Wolstenholme, 79, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away at his home on October 20, 2021.

Robert was born on March 12, 1942 in Hamilton, Bermuda. He was the only child of Robert and Leona Wolstenholme (maiden name Leona Stadt).

During his early life in Bermuda, Robert enjoyed swimming in the ocean and once saved his friend from a shark attack. There, he worked for the local telephone company as a telephone mechanic and played the bagpipes in a military band. He remained especially fond of bagpipe and drum marching music throughout his life which always reminded him of his youth. He was also a member of The National Union of Seamen of Great Britain and worked for a stint on the SS Queen of Bermuda ocean liner in 1959. In 1975, he met his wife, Gail, through a penpal service and immigrated to McPherson, Kansas to be with her and her two small children. In 1978 they relocated to Colorado Springs, where Robert worked as a cable television technician for over three decades. Robert was patriotic and loved both his native homeland and the USA. He loved animals and took care of a number of pets throughout his life. He had a lifelong interest in studying the Bible and learning about history.

Robert is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gail, stepdaughter Yvonne Christiansen, stepson R. J. Dilts, son MacGregor Wolstenholme and daughter Bobbi Wolstenholme.

Mr. Wolstenholme was memorialized at a private family ceremony before being cremated.
