Robert Wootten Obituary

Robert Lee Wootten
Nov. 30, 1945 - Feb. 15, 2014
Resident of Benicia
Robert Lee Wootten died peacefully surrounded by his family on February 15, 2014. Bob was born in Lodi, grew up in Lafayette, graduated from Acalanes High School and served in the US Navy.
Bob worked with his dad at their Berkeley Automotive Center. Later he became parts manager at Hertz in Benicia. Bob loved cars, boats, trucks, power tools and his dogs. He had a talent for anything mechanical. He was a combination of the TV characters Tim "Tool Time" Taylor and "MacGyver." He could fix anything.
Bob was one of a kind. He had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and enjoyed life to the fullest. With his gentle strength, kindness, smile, and helping hand he was an inspiration to everyone who knew him.
His greatest passion was the family cabin at Big Meadows near Bear Valley. Built by his grandfather, Hugh Roach, a member of the Masonic Order, Bob spent every summer of his life enjoying the cabin with family and friends. He loved packing the truck and heading out with his two dogs, first Addie and then Kaci.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Linda Wootten, his mother Winifred Wootten, his daughter Traci Wootten and sister Rebecca Tabone. He was preceded in death by his sister, Robinette Crangle, and his dad Robert Denver Wootten.
A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held at the Benicia Veterans Memorial Hall, 1150 First Street on Sunday, March 16, at 12:00 noon.
Donations can be made to Tony La Russa's ARF Pet Hug program or the charity of your choice.

Wow,I believe that I won't run into Bob anymore at the store or when he would walk his dog. Life is so fragile. Bob, you were such a nice person and always had a smile or laugh. It was always fun to be around you. Ted and I will miss you. Linda, I don't know what to say to you except we are all going to miss Bob.

Big Meadow will not be the same without Bob. He always had a warm welcome for his neighbors as they arrived. I will miss seeing Bob and Kaci out for their morning walk, and will remember him when I pass that beautiful cabin.
