One of my very favorite teachers at Wasson. A good man, definitely had a positive influence on me. Mr Z, I think of you often, with great fondness and appreciation.

I was a student of Mr. Zecha in 1964-1965 at Wasson High School...He was a very good teacher of algebra. I later met him as a college student while he was the Asst Manager at the Three Thieves Steakhouse in the 1970's. But the best meeting was in Dallas in 2007 at the WWII 463 Bomb Group Reunion at the Marriott Hotel. I heard his name called out for the group picture. I told my wife that years before I had known a man named Zecha. I went through the crowd of a couple of hundred people, including my own family members. Suddenly I saw that square face. I pulled up a chair next to him and asked, are you Mr. Robert Zecha? He said yes. I then asked, what did you do after the war? He said he went to college and then started teaching. I said Mr. Zecha, you were my tenth grade algebra teacher; before I could say another word he yelled, PENNINGTON. I wish I could say he remembered me for some good reasons but really, I was the class "cut-up". Good bye Mr Zecha. You were a great teacher and a good man. I'm glad I knew you. Richard

Jean and family: I am so saddened by the news of Bob's passing. He was the dearest man I've known and I was honored to have known him. Heaven has received a 'good one'. Our days at Wassson were wonderful and I'll never forget either of you. (I was Darrell Higman's first wife.)
