We are sad to announce the passing of Roberta (Bertie) Robertson who passed peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of September 7, 2023.

Roberta attended Alta Vista School and later attended UCCS where she received her Master's Degree. Roberta taught kindgarden and 2nd grade in Harrison School Dist #2 until her retirement.
Roberta married Lionel Robertson in 1952 and they had one daughter, Debbie (Adelbush) Robertson and 2 sons Bill Robertson and Marty Robertson. After their divorce Roberta met and married Bill Tagert.
Roberta and Bill enjoyed several years living the "Snowbird" life between Colorado and Arizona. Roberta is preceeded in death by her husband Bill.
Roberta enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the mountains but also felt at home on the eastern plains of Colorado where she was born and spent many years.
Roberta's roots ran deep and she made friends-wherever she was. She had a genuine interest for the people and places around her and in her life. She was a quick wit and yes, would always quote those little one-liners from sweet and funny life experiences with a laugh a twinkle in her eye and would keep history alive by recounting those and other stories. She always had a funny dream that she wanted to share. Roberta loved learning about southwest cultues.
One of her latest sayings that she shared with her late brother Ed was "see ya love ya bye". She ended every phone conversation with that saying.
In her recent years when she couldn't get out very often she would always ask for an "ice cream treat" if you were coming to visit her.
Roberta always had a zest for life right up to the end….
Roberta had a strong faith and was a member of the First Luthern Church.
Roberta is preceeded in death by her parents Bill & Zella Martin and her brother Ed Martin of Calhan Colorado, grandson Andy Cope and great granddaughter Makennah Cope.

I will forever miss you Bert. We had a lot of fun and laughs during our travels back and forth from Colorado Springs to Arizona and of course that special trip to Mexico with Aunt Shirley and Marty. Thank you for your friendship and wonderful memories. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family.
