Rodolfo Torres Obituary

Retired 1st Sgt. Rodolfo "Rudy" Torres passed away on September 14, 2006 in Colorado Springs at age 69. Rudy was born in Lamar, CO., on September 30, 1936 to Mary and Leo Torres. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Julia Torres. Rudy is also survived by five daughters: Roberta (Chris), Corinna (Robert), Dorothy (Jerry), Lisa (Michael) Gina (Terry) and the late Betty. He is the grandfather of Leslie, Brian, Christopher, Jessica, Mitchell, Taylor, Spencer, Kara, Juliana, Connor, Caleb, Madelyn, Christina, Robert Jr., Karina, Michelle and Robert as well as great grandchildren: Tianna, Kain, Merina, Mya, Jordan and Natalia. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Lloyd and Richard. Rudy proudly served his country in both Korea and Vietnam. He was a patriotic Army Veteran who served his country for 27 ½ years. He was a man who loved fishing and bowling and playing with his dogs, Mia and Joey. By far his greatest joy came from his wife, Julia and his family. There will be a time of visitation on Monday, September 18, 2006 from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs. A Rosary will be said on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 101 N. Main, Fountain followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services with full military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
