You don´t know me but I knew your Dad and help him in highest regard. He was a Gentleman/ He was so smart and so funny and so full of energy. Some folks talk about making the world better; Roger did make his world better everyday for those who came into contact with him. He lived his life in Crescendo and all of you were blessed to have him in your lives. Well Done Roger; Well Done!

Roger the dodger. We go back forever, Little League, Midgets, American Legion, High school. Baseball was big in Audubon, Iowa. You carried me around on the bars of your bicycle. After high school we headed in different directions but in spirit we never divided. We were in Audubon together a couple of Summers ago.

I will never forget Roger's willingness to state his opposition to allowing guns on CU campuses, including UCCS. As I recollect, he stood up at a Colorado Springs Executives meeting, telling the group that as a Marine, he knew a few things about guns and that he'd learned "they have a funny way of going off when they aren't supposed to." He then encouraged the Board of Regents to act accordingly. I respected his opinion as well as his courage to share it. May he rest in peace.

Dear Roger, I never dreamed in a million years something like this would happen to you. And I cry. I never realized how often you popped in to our store to say hi. I'm sure going to miss that. I will also miss you going to see Manheim Steamroller every other Christmas with Kristine and I. The football and NCAA brackets will never be the same without you grumbling about not about winning. You were a treasure Roger and I certainly can't picture a world without you in it. Your friend forever, Big Red. (Holly)

Dear Family,
Marines of the Pikes Peak Detachment #29 of the Marine Corps League send our thoughts and prayers to you and your family as you go through this time.
I and so many of my friends and relatives are/have fought this battle. It is a blessing to have friends and family by your side to support you in this and the Lord will always be by your side if you want him there.
We pray for wisdom for your doctors and strength and courage for you and your family.
Please contact me when you have a memorial gathering as we would like to honor our brother Roger also.
Sincerely,

I worked for Roger at Fashion Bar selling shoes in the mid 70s and went on to work for his brother at Buster Brown. He was a great boss and taught me so much. RIP Roger.

I am so sorry to learn of Roger's passing. I used to take my Mother to his stores, as she had a nearly impossible-to-find shoe size. He was always kind and gracious about her dilemna and we did, indeed, find shoes for her nearly every time we entered his store. He was definitely one of the good guys!!!
