Ron Shaffer Obituary

Ron Shaffer, passed away on March 8, 2017. He was a resident of Colorado Springs for 34 years and was a Computer Analyst for Boeing Aerospace until he retired.

Ron was born on July 10, 1938 to Ramon and Naida (Rountree) Shaffer in Cope, Colorado. Ron attended Cope High School and CSU. He also served in the Navy for four years. On June 26, 1965, he married Lucille George in Denver, Colorado.

Ron was an avid Broncos fan, through the bad and good years, since 1962.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Lucille; his children: Jennifer Cannon, Ann (Mike) Peterson and Rob (Stacy) Shaffer; grandchildren: Karina Cannon, Tony Cannon, Madison Peterson, Makenna Peterson and Ryan Shaffer; his sister, Shirley (Dick) Reese; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Naida Shaffer.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM Monday, March 13, 2017 at Saint Paul Catholic Church, 9 El Pomar Road. A Mass will follow at 11:00. Immediately following Mass, a reception and lunch will be in the church hall. The family will then proceed to the entombment at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven.

Memorials in Ron's name may be made to the American Lung Association.

Ron was a wonderful person, truly caring and always told it like it is! I respected him for his ethics and kind heart. He was not only my boss for several years but a great friend and mentor. I always looked up to him for advice and he was simply amazing!
