Ronald Bress Obituary

Ronald Dean Bress, born March 19, 1941, passed away on July 24, 2017 at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in Iowa and during his life resided in California, South Dakota, Minnesota, and finally relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Ron served six years in the Air National Reserves. He retired from Albertson's Non-Foods Warehouse after 25 years as a Warehouseman in California. During that time, he also served as President of the Alicante Park Homeowners Association.

Ron loved being with his family and playing golf, especially year-round golf in California. He is survived by wife Diana (Govero) Gilbert Bress, daughter Heather Gilbert (George Grace), brothers Darrel Fincher (Anastasia), Ed Fincher (Jenenne), Dennis Bress (Sol), sisters DiAnne Gale, and JoAnne Williams, and sisters-in-law Judy Krause (Richard) and Shirley West (Walt).

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry Bress, Frank & Nell Fincher and by his brother Wayne Fincher and sister Sandra McKenney.

Ron did not wish to be buried and so chose cremation as a way to continue being with his family. After the new national military cemetery in Colorado Springs has been completed, we will honor his wish to have some of his ashes in the mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the ALS Association, Rocky Mountain Chapter, 10855 Dover Street, Suite 500, Westminister, CO 80021-5554.

Ron was a lot of fun to be around. We worked together for a lot of years, and his sense of humor made work fun. Really miss him, and I will never forget him.

One of my favorite memories of Ron was his intense like of Dr. Pepper soda. Now and then when I am out I will have a Dr. Pepper. I always toast Ron with the first sip of soda. Instead of tears it brings a smile to my face. I miss the big guy and of course the love of his wife Diana Lynn.

May your memories be treasures nestled in your hearts. Found this and thought you all would like.

FOREVER
I may be invisible to your sight
But I am forever here.
You may not hear me speak
But I am forever whispering in your ear.
You may not feel my touch
But I am forever by your side.
You may not feel my presence
But I am forever going to remind you that my soul has not died.
You may not see my face
but I am forever smiling at you.
You may not know I'm there
But I am forever watching what you do.
I may not breathe the same air
But I am forever holding you.
And although I cannot be seen
I am Foreverlike my love for you.

Dear Diane and family ~ As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet Ron during his final months on earth. He was a gentle giant with a courageous heart.

I got know Ron over the last 8 years by helping with some yard work when he needed some help. Ron was always there asking how me and my family were doing and what we were up to these days when I came to mow. We had many of good conversations over the years and was truly an honor getting to know him and Diana. He will be missed for sure by me and all of his friends and family. Thanks for the time we shared. Rest in Peace Ron Bress!! God bless the entire Bress family.

We were so very sorry to hear of Ron's passing, but know that he is in a better place. It seems that the times that we see some folks are at sad events and I will not forget the time we spent visiting with him when Aunt Charlotte passed...he was such a great guy! Please know that our thoughts, hearts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Ron will always be with you all, watching over you and guiding you...you'll feel his presence in the quiet! Love and hugs to you all.
