Dear Keiko & Julie,
Hard to realize that Ron has been gone since 2007, and Daddy, Paul Dey, since 2017 with my sweet Dennis 2018. Time movies so fast! It doesn't seem that long ago that we shared your joy of Julies making you and Ron a family of three! No less meeting you for the first time in Moses Lake, as a teenager and you new to the USA. Our family became larger that day!

As I think of and remember you both and Ron!

We love you always,
Victoria Armstrong

Dear Keiko & Julie,

I was very upset at the news of Ron's passing. I didn't get the chance to get to know you as well as I would have liked, but due to your relationship with my grandparents over the years, (Imogene & Paul Dey) and the stories I would hear, I have always felt like you were distant family members.

I will miss Ron's whitty words in his Christmas cards.

My heart goes out to you both and I'll be keeping you both in my prayers!!

Love always,

Imogene & Paqul Dey

Dear Keiko & Julie,
We are so sorry about Ron. We were shocked and dissapointed. Even though so far apart most of the years we have known you we felt a closeness. Love you both, Imogene & Paul

I was shocked to hear of Ron's passing. There are people you think will always be in your life. He will always be in our memories as will you Keiko.

I was a teenager when I met you and Ron, when he was stationed in Moses Lake with my dad, Paul Dey.

You both are special people that know the meaning of family and friends. It was so special when you flew to Phoenix for my parents 50th anniversay. It meant so much to all of us.

You and Julie are both in my prayers. If ever you need anything, please call on me.

Love Always,

Keiko and Julie,
How sad we were to hear that Ron has passed away. We didn't realize just how sick he was. I was in the midst of writing a card to him when I found out.
We never met him, but, through our long conversations on the phone, he felt like he was a brother to me, and I felt like he knew him all of my life. What a loss. I am thankful for the time he spent on family tree history, and I love him for it.
He taught me so much. I will miss his jokes and keen sense of humor. He was such an intelligent man..and he will be missed. We send our prayers and hugs to you both. If you ever come up North, please call us. We would love to meet you.

God Bless You..and just know that you have another Angel on your shoulders watching over you now. He is no longer in pain and discomfort.

We will miss him as we know you will too. Thank you for sharing him.

Cousins...Shirley and Edwin Laru

Ron's grandmother and my grandmother, Rose Martin Vincent, were sisters.

Keiko I am very sorry to hear of Ron's passing. Although I only met him for a few days in the UP, he taught me so much about my Erickson & Norweigion heritage. I will miss the tidbits of information that he kept digging up. My prayers are with you and Julie. I know Ron is keeping watch over us all.

Keiko and Julie

My condolences to you on Ron's passing. I worked with Ron at The Sun back in the early 80's. I haven't seen him since I left there but I think of him often; especially when I see candied apples. He bought me one when I got my braces off my teeth (Wow! That was a long, long time ago!) He had such a great sense of humor and could always lift my spirits when needed. He always bragged about the two of you and was so proud. May memories of him keep you strong.

Keiko & Julie, We are shocked and saddened to learn of dear cousin Ron's passing. We always had fun whenever we got together. Have fond memories of vacations in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Thanks to Ron, the historians at Eagle Harbor Lighthouse have lots of photos and biographical information about his uncle Ed, (who was ligthouse keeper for 40 years). We will never forget how proud Ron & Keiko were when they took us to the Broadmoor Ice Arean in Colorado Springs, to see young Julie skate like a champion. Also, thanks to Ron, for sending Shari so many rare family photos. They have become part of a cherished family album. God Bless, Bob & Shari Fitzgerald - Westland, Michigan

I just learned of Ron's passing through my Aunt Shari Fitzgerald and am very sad to say goodbye to yet another member of the Sampson clan. Since 2005 we shared pictures and stories about our families and it was good to have that connection. I am very greatful for the work Ron did on geneology and am happy that he shared his research with all of us Sampsons located in the Seattle area. The last time I saw Ron was when I was a little girl and he was stationed in Moses Lake, WA. I know he kept up correspondence with our Mom up until she passed away. He was obviously a man who had a lot of friends and very out going. I am glad his suffering is gone and he is now with my Dad Maurice and other family members looking down upon us.

Kieko: Ron and I grew up together on Enola ave. in Kenmore. We have not been in touch for years but it was good to hear from him about two years ago. I was so happy that he got to see my Mother Ruth when he was in Buffalo. I want you to know that our prayers are for Ron, you and the children John Dietrich.

My condolences to all of Ron's family. I met Ron while working at the Gazette in the late 80s. He was a gentleman, had a great sense of humor, and loved newspapering. Even though we worked at competing newpapers in those days, he helped me many times as I learned about the business. I never met anyone who didn't like or respect Ron. My deepest sympathies to all.

Ron was a good friend. During my years in Colorado Springs we always had time for a coffee break and good conversations. In the years since, we had been in contact thru e-mail. I will miss Ron, his wit and humor. Ron, here is to you and may your new journey be tranquil and peaceful. We will meet again. Bonnie and I will miss you!

Ron was a good friend. Each time he would come to Pueblo, we'd go to lunch at Don Carlos Mexican Food. He'd order the same thing every time, the number 2, beef burrito, with mild green chili, and iced tea with lemon.

He had some great tales of his time in the Air Force; some of the pranks he'd play on people,or some of the really dumb things he did. He cherished Keiko and Julie, and talked about taking Julie to her skating lessons and to tournaments. He and Keiko traveled the world, usually visiting with friends from the Air Force days. He had the Upper Michigan penninsula accent down pat, when he'd talk about the "Uppers." He'd talk about his extended family back east in New York, Michigan and Chacago. I don't remember how many brothers and sisters he had, but it seemed he had a lot of them.

Ron always enjoyed sponsoring a new cadet at the Air force Academy, and I guess they kept in touch with him, throughout their military careers. He also enjoyed going to the Air Force Academy Football games and got us interested in going to them, too.So this fall when we gather again in parking lot number three, we'll raise a glass to Ron.
