Ronald Kadera Obituary

Lt. Colonel Ronald R. Kadera passed away on December 27 at his home in Colorado Springs. He was born in 1934 in Sturgis, South Dakota. As a military brat he attended 28 different schools.

Lt. Kadera married Sally Stockton on November 25, 1956. Earning his commission and wings through the Aviation Cadet program he was assigned to SAC where he spent his entire career. He retired from the Air Force in 1977 after serving as the B-52 squadron commander at Ellsworth Air Force Base. He served three tours in Southeast Asia and was stationed throughout the U.S. and world. He earned many commendations and medals including the Bronze Star.

Although he served his country where assigned, his devotion to his family was always evident. He was a member of the Episcopal Church, Masons, and the Shrine. In the Masons he served as their scholarship committee chairman where he was responsible for many individual students obtaining college scholarships in Colorado.

His recreational activities revolved around the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, skiing, and many team sports. He loved animals and owned horses, dogs, and cats throughout his lifetime.

Ronald is survived by his wife Sally of sixty years, daughter Bridgette Bogan of Colorado Springs, son Robert Kadera of Littleton, son Michael Kadera of South Dakota/Wyoming, and seven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Edith Kadera.

His legacy will be one of serving God, his country, and his family.

Services will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery Section B, Denver, CO. on January 9 at 1:30.
