Dear Jane,
We just received the St. Cloud State magazine and noted Ron's passing. Ron was, during my years at St.Cloud, a very important and valued friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Gerry Dellwo and I were married on December 19th 1953 and just finished our 60th year together. Blessings

Dear Jane,

Just seeing your name in my InBox today momentarily took my breath away. Having “just” had my last long chat with Ron in Black Forest in August, and hearing him tell of his then recent “graduation” from Hospice (I think that was the word he used), it was clear that his circumstance was very fragile.

During our four quick years in the Springs, Laurene and I packed in SO many wonderful memories with you and Ron: at Salem, in your home, on hikes, et al. But the “Ron memories” that rise to the top with me are the many hours he and I sat chatting in my car in your driveway as I was “dropping him off” after Bible Study Fellowship on Monday nights. I have never felt a kinship with another man-of-God as strong as that with Ron Knudtsen. Just one of a million things we talked about was looking forward to one day being able to track Paul down and getting HIS explanation of chapters 9, 10 and 11 of Romans! :-) So at the moment, Ron has a leg up on me in that quest. How I look forward to continuing our chats!

In Christian love,
Dick

Jane, we were so sad to hear of Ron's passing. You were some of the very first friends we made when we moved to Colorado in 1968. We will always remember our times together at Salem Baptist Church. Ron left a wonderful footprint on this world. Frank & Susan Luttrell

I first met Ron in May 1971 when I was on the summer work crew at Bear Trap Ranch. His love for the Ranch and the Lord's work at the Ranch was always evident in all he did there. I am thankful I had a chance to meet and work with him at Bear Trap for a couple winter camps and the summers of 1971 and 1972. Later, my wife and I appreciated both his and Jane's work at the family camps that we attended with our kids in the late 1980s and early 1990s. At one of those camps, I had transmission problems with my van. Ron and Jane opened up their home to us for a couple of days while repairs were made. He truly demonstrated the love of Christ in all he did.

Our love to you, Jane and family. We share your loss of a truly amazing man who pointed us to Jesus in his life and his words. And we share your joy in knowing that Ron is alive with his Savior and that we will see him soon. Our prayers are with you as you celebrate his life.

To Mrs Knudtsen ~ The words many are sharing now in honor of your dear hubby are strikingly reminiscent to me of how your daughter Beth lives her life. She too is a woman of faith in our Creator who lives to serve and to help others heal & to be the best they can be. Beth is my Homeopath & I am blessed to know her and to study w/her. You, together w/Beth's dad have clearly instilled in your offspring the love & the wonder of a God who Lives & Gives His best to those who trust Him. I am so very sorry for your great loss but am hopeful of joyful reunions that await us. So happy for you that you too have that hope.

The world needs so many more men like Ron Knudtsen! I regret not taking more time to get to know him, yet his vibrant spirit always blessed our too few times together. His legacy lives on in so many wonderful ways, for the Kingdom, for his amazing family, his many friends and in a very special way up on the mountain at Bear Trap Ranch. What a celebration must be going on in Heaven right now! Prayers for his incredible family that mourns their loss, but knows his gain in being with the Lord today.

Jane and Family, Here are some of the things that we celebrate and are thankful for. Ron's being a very good friend, example to us and a mentor to our sons. His thought provoking questions as he taught us in Bible study and Sunday School. His laugh and singing with us out of the IV hymnal. The warm welcome into your home. His often introducing us to a new book that he had recently read. Together you two gave us a wonderful Bear Trap Family Camp experience for many years. Together we skied, fished, hiked, biked, paddled canoes, camped, and traveled to places like the Boundary Waters, Wheaton, Tucson, Lindsborg. His wood creations daily remind us of him. We must mention the birthday celebrations we can never forget. We are so grateful for the days we spent with you in the Black Forest in August. All of these wonderful memories are but a small joy compared to the joys that Ron is now, and we later will experience in heaven. Jane we love you and are praying for you and your family.

Our thoughts and prayers go to Mr. Knudtsens family and loved ones. My children attended King Elementary in Widefield when me was a counselor there. He was such a kind and soft spoken gentleman. He always had a smile on his face and he will be missed by so many.

The legacy of a life well-lived carries on far beyond its own, extending into the lives of many left behind. Ron, yours was such – you lived to serve, to bring healing and reconciliation, to see people become all they are created to be. You played a long and significant role in helping me become who I am. You and Jane gave me so much – of your time, your home and wonderful hospitality, your listening ears and a voice of experience, your faithful prayers. I am warmed by thoughts of our time spent together in beautiful Black Forest last summer. You are deeply missed but we are at peace in your now perfect rest with our Creator.

We didn't know Ron well, but were blessed to have spent some game nights with him and Jane at Mark & Mary's. We especially remember a night when we played "Scum." We laughed so hard and had great fun. Although we didn't know him well, we were touched by his love for his family, Christ, and serving others!

Jane and Family, I received a phone call on Friday afternoon from Jim and Ina to tell me of Ron's homegoing journey. I am so sad for all of you that he is no longer with you here on earth, but know without a doubt he is waiting for you in Heaven with his Father. What a blessing it was in August to get caught up again with you and him, Jane! He was an awesome man, sharing the influence of God in his daily life. I am a better person for having his influence in the lives of me and my family. My prayers are with all of you as you get used to life here without him. What a legacy he has left!

Oh Jane dear, We are so sorry to have learned of Ron's death. We remember with great joy times we had together.....your hospitality in allowing us to use your home, visits with us, joining in our 50th wedding anniversary. Ron was so thoughtful and loving....we remember when he visited us he always asked what he could do to help around the house. May the Lord pour out comfort to you in these days. Ron was always one of my favorites at family reunions. My father, Edsel Hotek, was also a WWII pilot, and Ron went out of his way to tell me interesting and complimentary details of life during that era. He was also very kind to my husband and children, and made them feel important at reunions. I just loved the way he really focused on the person he was speaking to. He was very Christ-like in every way. My sympathy for your great loss.

How can we begin to thank God for Ron's influence in our lives? From the helpful Bible teaching and hikes he led at Bear Trap Ranch to the advice he gave us in dealing with family issues, we have been forever changed. Ron, we look forward to seeing you again someday and continuing this wonderful friendship. Love to Jane, Mary, Mark, David and all the rest of your beautiful family. May God comfort you now as only He can.

Its alway sad to learn of a favorite teacher's passing. Mr. Knudtsen was my 6th grade teacher at Pinello. He was soft spoken and even tempered. He made my transition from DoD schools to Pinello much easier. I've always held a soft spot in my heart for Mr Knudtsen. He left a legacy in Widefield School District through all the children he taught. My condolences to his family and my prayers are with them at this time.
