Ronald Romero Obituary

Ronald Scott Romero (Pops), 58, went to join his beloved wife of 25 years to continue his journey on June 12, 2009, at the Sangre de Cristo Hospice House, in Pueblo, CO. “Ron� as he was affectionately known as, was born August 26, 1950, in Pueblo, CO. He was predeceased by his parents Fructoso and Nadine (Martinez) Romero; his loving wife Lorraine (Martinez) Romero. He was currently employed at Peterson Air Force Base, with 20 plus years of service, as a meat supervisor. He was part owner of Grandpappy's Tavern. Ron was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. Ron had a great sense of humor and was always willing to tell or listen to a joke. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved family; sister, Cindy (Sam) Romero; children, Gene (Theresa) Naranjo, Valerie (DJ) Gallegos, Stella (James) Ortega, Ron and Giorgia Romero; nine grandchildren, Felicia Lopez, Stephanie Naranjo, Sarah Cortez, Tiaira and Marcus Ortega, Destinee and Aliyah Gallegos, Brooklyn Romero, and Aubreanna Roybal. Great-grandchild, Isabella Cortez-Ortegon; Godson, David Calderon. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Ron was a member of the fraternal order of Eagles Aerie #145, he enjoyed watching the Broncos, riding his Harley, fishing, and spending all his free time with his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy! Special thanks Dr. Travis Archuleta and staff for the loving care of our father. Also the Sangre de Cristo Hospice in lieu flowers donation in Ron's name to the Hospice House through the funeral home. Visitation today Angelus Chapel 4p.m. until 7p.m. Funeral service 10:30a.m. Thursday. The church of the Good Shepard 1216 Beech St. Pastor Sam Sisneros, officiating. Interment beside his beloved wife Ernestine at Imperial Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends at the Zaragoza Hall following the burial rites.
