I am grateful for the special memories of my big brother that I treasure. He loved to tease me and share blond jokes with me. One Christmas when I was 9 months pregnant, he made a scavenger hunt for my gift but didn't have a gift at the end of the exhaustive indoors/outdoors hunt. My sister-in-law discovered the plan and snuck a present at the end of the search - to the total shock of Ron! He had a love for squirrels, and when I had squirrel problems, he relocated several to his yard. I could always count on him if I needed help, and it was my honor to step in and help him before/after his wife's passing. As I sat by his bedside the last evening of his life, it was truly a beautiful, peaceful atmosphere that he was ushered into his eternal home. I rejoice that I was able to affirm for the family that he made sure of his salvation. Just before hospice, he peacefully pointed upward and kept saying, "Light, light," and then, "Grandpa Morse." I feel he saw a glimpse of heaven. I will see you again Ron!

Let me tell everyone about my father, Ron Watkins. He was a kind hearted person who was always humorous. He was a people person and his charismatic persona would take over a full room. His love for wildlife and the mountains was what defined him. Exploring the backroads of Colorado was not only a hobby but a way of life. I'm telling you, Dad could have been a tour guide of the backcountry and gorgeous hidden sites throughout Colorado.
I remember Dad and I went to Phoenix, AZ to watch NASCAR live on my birthday. Boy, the excitement to see the greats race, Dale Earnhardt, Rusty Wallace, Jeff Gordon.....I don't know who was more exited, Dad or me. Judging by Dad's many NASCAR models, I would say you Dad. Love ya, Tim
