Rosa Baker Obituary

Rosa M. Baker, 88, passed away November 20, 2006 at home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born January 31, 1918 in Hodgman, Kansas to Clyde S. and Lucy J. (Holland) Warden, who preceded her in death. Rosa married William L. Baker in Kansas. Bill preceded her in death in 1983. There were four children to this union. She enjoyed being a homemaker and a cook for the Hanover School District. Rosa is survived by three daughters; Jane (Tom) Thiele; Sevilla (Thomas) Gallo; and Rosa (Stan) Huntsman; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; brother, Alvie E. Warden; sisters, Mary Alice Wilhelm, Daisy Wasson, Bertha Unrue, Joanne Nichols and Hazel Kane; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Henry Harper Baker; brother, Rupert Warden and one sister Alma Byers. Rosa enjoyed traveling; she always had a suitcase packed and ready to go. Her craft skills included crocheting; she especially liked making crosses and angels. Rosa had a generous heart and was very forgiving. Visitation will be held Friday, November 24, 2006 from 3-7 p.m. at Swan Law Funeral Directors. Services will be Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Swan Law Cascade Chapel, 501 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Burial will be immediately following at the Chico Basin Cemetery in Hanover, Colorado. Contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E.
