Rose Smith Obituary

Mrs. Rose Marie Smith, 85, died on October 8th, 2016 at the Forest Manor Home in Hope, NJ. She was born and raised in Phoenixville, PA and lived in Wharton, Roxbury Township, and Colorado before moving to Hackettstown, NJ. She was a retired employee of Picatinny Arsenal and attended the Succasunna Methodist Church and the First Baptist Church of Ledgewood, NJ. While in Colorado, Rose was a member of the Red Hats Society and TOPS club. She enjoyed crocheting and baking.

Rose was predeceased by her husband Richard S. Smith (of 49 years) in 2001, and is survived by her 2 daughters; Carol Ann (and Fran) Staples of Stanhope and Donna (and Bill) Slee of Budd Lake. She also leaves her 2 grandchildren; Christine Chervenack (and her boyfriend Andrew Grenot) and Matt Slee, both of Budd Lake, niece Dot (and Bob) Hines of Florida, and dear friend Shirley Chervenack of Ledgewood.

Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com), on Wednesday, October 12th, 2016 from 4 - 6 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at 6 pm.
