ROSETTA RANDALL
June 19, 1938 - July 25, 2018
Rosetta Woods was born on Father's Day, June 19, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan - the daughter of Nelson Emery and Sadie Woods. Both parents preceded her in death.
She was introduced to the Lord at an early age by her mother and united with New Light Baptist Church in Detroit. She was baptized in 1957.
She married George K. Randall in 1966. To this union a son, Daryl Keith was born in Ankara, Turkey.
She began her career with the state of Colorado in Oct, 1974 in the 4th Judicial County Court - Transferring to the Department of Corrections in Sept, 1977, retiring in Feb, 1997.
She was a long-time member of NAACP. A charter member of the Colorado Springs chapter of Colorado Black Women for Political Action (CBWPA). She was a 10+ year member of Jolly Jills Civic and Social Club. She volunteered at the Municipal Court, City of Fountain for 5 years. She was active with the Western States, Southern District Women's Auxiliary, serving as Corresponding secretary or serving as a program chair.
She was a charter member of the Women of Purpose, Colorado Springs Charter, also a member of the Southern Colorado Black Round table serving as secretary until her stroke in Sept, 2008.
She leaves to mourn her son, Daryl (Monika) Randall of Colorado Springs, CO; two grandchildren, Mason Randall and Avery Randall, whom she loved dearly. Two brothers; George Woods of Detroit, MI and Claude Woods of Colorado Springs, CO. She also leaves behind a multitude of family members ("The Cason Klan").
A memorial service will be held Wednesday August 1, 2018 at 1pm at True Spirit Baptist Church.
