ROSS OWEN PLYMELL, JR.
November 3, 1932 August 25, 2018
Owen Plymell, 85 years old, passed away August 25, 2018.
He was born in Brighton, CO, son of Ross Owen Plymell, Sr., and Kathleen (Johnson) Plymell.
Upon graduating from Lead High School in South Dakota in 1950, Owen obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree from CU Boulder in 1954. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He later earned his Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from CU Boulder in 1967.
Owen married his wife of 60 years, Patricia Poulson in Waynesboro, VA on August 2, 1958. They established their longtime home in Colorado Springs where Owen was a high school guidance counselor for District #11. He was on the staff of Wasson High School upon its opening in 1958. He moved to Mitchell High School when it opened in 1965 and finished his career at Doherty High School in 1988.
He is survived by wife, Patricia, brother Randy (Barbara) Plymell, son Brian (Karen), daughter Susan (Scott) Tjaden, grandchildren Daniel (Candace) Plymell, Kathryn (Dustin) Peckman, Michael (Corrianne) Plymell, Andrew Goter, Julianna (Ethan) Follon, and Kira Tjaden, and 3 great grandchildren, Ezekiel, Kari, and Levi.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, August 31 at 1st Presbyterian Church, 209 E. Bijou St., Colorado Springs, CO. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Friends of Twin Lakes, memo "Fire Station," 231 Lang Street, Twin Lakes, CO 81251.

We are so grateful we had the privilege of knowing Owen and his family! His precious sense of humor and kind heart was always a gift to us each time we saw him. We will sure miss him. You are all in our prayers for peace and comfort knowing he's with our Lord!

I had the greatest respect and appreciation of Owen as a counselor and as a colleague during our time at Doherty High School. My condolences to his family on the loss of this wonderful man.
