Roxanne DeWitt Obituary

Roxanne (Roxie) DeWitt was born May 20, 1921 to Frank and Roxie (Porterfield) Hoban in Heartwell, Nebraska. She grad-uated from Heartwell High School in May 1938 and attended Nebraska College of Commerce in Hastings, Nebraska. On December 14, 1942, she married Robert E. DeWitt at Fort Lewis, Washington. After Robert retired from the United States Army, they relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado. While living in Colorado Springs, she worked as a bookkeeper and office manager. After her retirement in 1982, she spent several years working with Cancer Mount of Colorado, helping cancer patients. She is survived by her husband; one brother, James Hoban and his wife Rosemary of Heartwell, Nebraska; two sisters, Mary Virginia Horan of Heartwell, Nebraska and Rose Ryan and her husband, Eugene of Minden, Nebraska; two sisters-in-law, Christine Sheridan of Derry, New Hampshire, and Josephine O'Meara and her husband, Warren of Wood Stock, Virginia; one brother-in-law, David Praga of Ocean Hills, California; fifty nieces and nephews; and special friends, Blaine and Lida White of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was blessed with a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Corpus Christi Catholic Church. A visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2005 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses with a rosary to follow at 2:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2005 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Entombment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven.
