Ruby Bennett Obituary

Ruby Bennett, 84, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in Little River, Texas to the late John Henry Attaway and Beulah Marie (Swanner). She married Harold McGregor Hood in June 1943 and had four children. Ruby was preceded in death by her children Alicia Griggs, Gregory Hood and Michael Hood. She is survived by her daughter Robin Burke; Ruby's sister, Margarite Sevier, brother Vaughn Attaway; grandchildren Heather Kier, Sam Burke, Lauren Burke, Harley Hood, Randy Hood; great grandchild Jack Lilly. Ruby loved her family very much and the light of her life was her great grandson, Jack. Ruby was a very talented artist and was active in the Manitou Springs art community. She loved painting, crafting quilts and making beaded jewelry and clothing. She loved Nature and God's creatures. Wherever Ruby was there were birds singing and flowers blooming. Ruby will be forever remembered by all who love her. Memorial service to be announced. "She asked the Lord to lift her up. And by the wings of his angels, he did."
