Shari and girls,
I was so saddened, just today, to hear of Russ' death. He was a wonderful, godly Christian with a quiet, winning personality who I admired greatly. We met when he came to my house to install a humidifier almost five years ago and had great conversations periodically throughout the intervening years when he'd do service calls. His witness to Our King heartened me, and I'm sure many others, every time we met. I take comfort, as do you, in knowing he's now with his Father. You are in my prayers.

Dear Shari and Family-
I think of Russ often and treasure the times we spent together at St. Francis church. The Men's Breakfast group that Russ was instrumental in founding still meets on Friday mornings. though the church has closed its doors. Russ was truly a GOOD man and an inspiration to all.

I am truly saddened to hear about Russ. I had the good fortune to meet Russell at work almost 20 years ago and still remember his positive, friendly attitude, always something good to say about everyone he came in contact with, maybe that was the Scout in him..I never knew he was a Eagle Scout, but he didnt talk much about his accomplishments, the good ones never do. I would see him in the part houses through the years and really enjoyed our talks, I will miss him. My prayes go out to his family in this most difficult time, May God bless you and know that even Heaven is a better place with Russel there.

To the Bairefield family. I am sorry to here about the passing of Russ. He was a great person with a winning personality. I admired him. He helped me get over the awkwardness of adolecence by building my confidence. He accepted me for face value, and he always made feel like I could accomplish anything I put my mind to.

I remember the first time he saw my collection of exotic pigeons. He could not believe that there were so many different breeds of pigeons.

I remember what a great time my brother Roger and I had with Russ at Benbrook Lake. He showed us where Mustang beach was. Everytime I go to Benbrook I think of him and the good times we had.

My fondest memory though is the Genesis concert he took me to. I remember that he was running real late to pick me up. Since the concert was in Dallas I was concerned that we were going to be late, but in true Russ fassion, he told me not to worry that we had plenty of time to get there. Well we did make it on time, but Arlington to Dallas in 15 minutes was not what I had in mind. I asked him on the way If he thought we might be going a little fast, and he replied " You think this is fast? Let me show you what fast is" I was to afraid to ask him anymore questions.

My parents also wanted to send their deepest condolences. My mom made many enchiladas for Russ. He loved my moms cooking.

Its times like these that we just need to stop and appreciate the special gifts that God gives us. Russ was a special gift from God given to myself and my family. I will always remember him and honor his life.

I hope that your family can find comfort in all the out pouring of love for Russ. I know that he touch my life in a special way that no one else could.

Respectfully Yours

I'm so sorry to hear about Russ. I remember Russ as a little child when the Barefield's lived across the street from my family, the Bantau's in River Oaks. Russ was always such a sweet baby and a pleasure to babysit. Please let DC Barefiled know I am thinking of him as well as the rest of the family.

Dear Barefield Family:
Russ was in our homeroom at Arlington Heights HS in Fort Worth. The three of us sat together everyday and shared alot of fun high school life. He was very well liked at Heights and I remember he always had a smile on his face. From reading the other posts, it seems he carried that forward in his adult life to the fullest. My heart goes out to you in this time of loss. He leaves a wonderful, loving legacy behind.

To My Dear Sweet Family:
Russ is the one cousin that I always knew we were close. Russ
does not have to have a funeral preached because during his life he preached his own. He will always be remembered here in Tennessee as a very special person in our lifes. Please remember that you all still have family here and are welcome anytime in Tennessee. I will always remember the good times Russ & I had here and at all the places he lived we visited. Russ & I had a bond that most cousins don't have. We always knew that the miles between us were long but we knew that we would be there for each other if needed, if only in prayer, anytime day or night. I will always love him and I will miss him sooo much..Shari, Jada, Chelsea, I Love you all and please know that we are here for you all if you need anything. You all are in our prayers, always... My heart is broken as I know that yours is..
When I talked to Russ the other Sat. he told me that you all were Thanking God for his healing one way or the other. I guess I knew then that he was going on to heaven sometime soon, I just did not want to face it... He will be waiting for all of us by the beautiful mountains and lakes that we all love so much... Uncle DC,
Mike, Michelle, Brian please know that I Love you, Thank you for sharing Russ with all of us.WE are praying for you all..We Love You ALL...

Dear Shari & Family, So sorry to hear the loss of Russ, it's been a long time since we saw each other. I'm sorry to say we never got to meet you and the family. I'm his cousin thru his Aunt Genny, I do know when we were last together we had a great time being together for the family reunion. Times like this makes you regret not taking the time to spend & talk with family and getting caught up on our family and love ones. I'm sure it's hard right now but know in your hearts that Aunt Kay and Russ are together in God's Kingdom, smiling down on you and the family. Uncle DC, Michelle, Brian & Mike know that the family are there for you in spirit and our prayers are for you all in the days to come. All our Love, John & Sheree, Mike & Connie, Johnny & Amy, Renee, Dianne, & Lisa (Griffin Family)

Dear Shari and Family,

I first met Russ when we were looking for someone to install air conditioning in our house here in Briargate. We chose King’s Service because of his witness of Christ’s provision in his life. I know it may be little consolation during this time of grief and sorrow, but Russ is now with The King and I am better for having known him.

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,
