Russell Harding Obituary

On August 5, 2007 with his wife Sylvia and his son Russ III at his side, Russell J. Harding Jr. said his final farewell. "Russ" was born to Russell J. Harding, Sr. and Alice May (Schaubel) in Ottawa Illinois on October 18th, 1944. After graduating from Ottawa Township High School he attended Purdue University where in 1966 he received a BSEE, and an MSEE in 1968. Always in search of knowledge, he later attended Regis University where he received an MBA. Russ enjoyed working the majority of his 35 year career as an engineer in Product Development (R&D) with the Oscilloscope Line for Hewlett Packard/Agilent Technologies, retiring in 2002. Russ loved living in Colorado and received pleasure from many outdoor activities. He was an avid hiker, successfully reaching the summit of 40 of the "14ers." He also enjoyed golf, biking, photography and collecting Brewery memorabilia. After retirement he spent the winter in Scottsdale, AZ which enabled him to enjoy his love of golf year round. Russ is survived by his beloved family, wife Sylvia, daughter Carrie Lynn, son Russell III, (Deborah), step-daughters Theresa Ager (Mike), and Alicia Davison (Rick), Grand-daughter Renee, Grandson Trent, step-Grand-daughter Tara Nicole, and sister Judy Jay (Norman). A memorial service will be 7:00 p.m. at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Avenue in Colorado Springs. A Celebration of Russ' Life will be held at the Garden of the Gods Trading Post on Saturday, August 18th, 2007. An avid supporter of the Susan G. Komen Affiliate of Colorado Springs, Russ has requested in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in his name to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Please send donations to PO Box 9678, Colorado Springs, CO 80932.

Harding Family,

I'm so sorry to hear of Russ' passing. He will be greatly missed. Russ was so strong and had a strong will. He was also full of knowledge he brought to the Crohn's and Collitis meetings.

I hope you are comforted by the good memories you shared. Sylvia, my prayers are with you and the Family in this difficult time.

Sylvia and Family --- thanks for the care and comfort you have given to Russ. He's always typified the character of Hewlett-Packard that I loved. Since we are out of town we cannot make the memorial service but we will be there in spirit.
