Colonel Russell Nathaniel Pitts, US Army (Retired), aged 92 of Colorado Springs passed away on January 7, 2026 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was commissioned as an officer in the US Army and served with distinction for 23 years, demonstrating exceptional leadership and courage. COL Pitts was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Edna Earl, and is survived by sons Russell, Dale, and Gary, four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at noon on February 27, 2026 at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, Colorado Springs. A reception will follow at 2 p.m. at Patty Jewett Golf Club, Colorado Springs. See full obituary at https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/12706700
