I have such wonderful memories of Miss Aufenkamp as my kindergarten teacher, that basement room at Garfield and the wintergreen smell of paste. She knew how to start us out right! Peace be with you Miss Aufenkamp!

Ruth Aufenkamp was my kindergarten teacher at Mark Twain Elementary in 1965. I still have the black and white classroom picture of all the students sitting in their desks with Miss Aufenkamp at the front. Condolences to her family and friends.

Our family was honored to know this kind, gentle lady. I am sure she instilled great strength and confidants into the hearts and minds of each of her students. She was a once in a lifetime gift to education.
Blessings to her family.
