Ruth Camp Obituary

Ruth Eileen Finney Camp passed away at a local hospital Saturday night, December 19. She was born in Colorado Springs on April 19, 1922 to Carl and Ruth Finney. She enjoyed growing up with her sister, Margaret, and brother, Buddy, on an apple orchard in Penrose, Colorado. After graduating from high school, she moved to Colorado Springs, where she attended beauty college and met her future husband - Pete Camp. After their marriage, they lived in Trinidad and Pueblo before moving to Simla, where they lived for nine years. They returned to Colorado Springs in 1956 - and remained here. Ruth and Pete were members of the Jimmy Camp Sportsman Club, and she was a member of the Merry Matrons' Home Demonstration Club. Pete preceded her in death in 1984. She is survived by their three daughters and their spouses - Marlo and Dennis Bates, Sharon and Chuck Reser, and Peggy and Randy Short. She had seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at East United Methodist Church, 1505 E. Monument St., Colorado Springs, Colorado. Interment will be at Calhan Cemetery in Calhan, Colorado.

I am so sorry to hear of your Mom's death. I have very fond memories of her (and your dad). I cannot drive through Colorado Springs without memories of times we visited their home. I hope God gives you comfort as you cope with her loss.
