Ruth Fetler Obituary

Ruth Arlove Fetler, a long time resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on November 27, 2013 at the age of 87.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, May 2, 1926, she was raised in Ironwood Michigan by her parents, Raymond and Mary Erickson (nee Curry).

She was preceded in death by her brother Ray, husband John, son Michael, and daughter Annette. She is survived by her son, Mark, granddaughter, Heather Daymon, grandson Maxx Daymon, granddaughter, Rebecca Fetler and grandson, Caleb Fetler.

Ruth met her husband at Northwestern University where she studied music and voice. They married in 1946. Shortly thereafter they moved to Colorado Springs to raise a family.

After working at Manufacturer's Life Insurance, and later retiring from Digital Equipment Company, she attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, graduating with honors in 1996 with a B.A. in Sociology.

Ruth regularly attended the First Lutheran Church of Colorado Springs where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also volunteered for nearly twenty years at the Marion House soup kitchen.

A memorial service will be held on January 11th at 11am at the First Lutheran Church, 1515 N. Cascade Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of the First Lutheran Church.
