Ruth Kuenning Obituary

December 9, 1919 - December 22, 2007 On Saturday, December 22nd, 2007, Ruth R. Kuenning passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family at the home of one of her sons where she had been living for the past year. Ruth was preceeded in death by her husband Walter, who died December 25th, 1997. She is survived by her four sons and their wives, Richard and Jessie, William and Chris, James and Ann, and John and Karen. She has 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Originally from Lima, Ohio, moving to Colorado Springs in 1948, Ruth spent her early years being a mother to her four boys. She went on to get her Master of Education in the 1960s, and spent many years teaching elementary school in District 11. She and Walter were active members of the Colorado Mountain Club and the Audobon Society during the 1950s and 1960s. They were contributing authors for the Colorado Breeding Bird Atlas from 1898 to 1994. Friends are invited to a memorial service and reception at the Sovereign Grace Bible Church, 5800 West 6th Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado 80214 on Thursday, December 27th at 5:45 PM.

I would like to express my condolences to the whole family from a former neighbor that lived cross the street from them in my youngest days (and Dickie is still a farmer...)
