Sister Ruth L. Morgan was born on March 3, 1924 to the union of Elder Chester E. and Mrs. Anna L. Morgan. She was the seventh child of thirteen children (all of who lived to adulthood). She attended Bristol Elementary and North Jr. High. She graduated from Colorado Springs High School, (Now known as Palmer High School). She gained employment in the home of Dr. Haney. She was later employed as an elevator operator, then as a switchboard operator for May D & F, from where she retired after many years of faithful service.
She was a loyal, faithful, lifetime member of the First Church of God in Christ, (now known as Morgan Memorial Chapel, Church of God in Christ), where her Father, Bishop Chester E. Morgan, was the founder and pastor. After her father's death, his son, (her brother), Justus B. Morgan, became her pastor. Sister Ruth was active in many church activities and auxiliaries. She was the church secretary, Sunday School teacher, choir member; she was active in the Women's Outreach, Missions, etc. She was a Prayer Warrior. She prayed for many generations of church and family members.
She was "Sister Ruth", "Aunt Ruth", "Ruthie". She was a caregiver who took tender care of her mother for many years. She cared for and babysat multiple generations of siblings, nieces and nephews. She brought them to Sunday School, Bible School, picnics and other church activities.
She was a humble, sincere, faithful servant of God, to church and family. Her quiet, gentle spirit was a source of strength to all who knew her. She quietly slipped away on April 23, 2022 in the presence of family members who loved her dearly.
She will be missed by multiple generations of family, friends, church and community members. SHE CANNOT BE REPLACED. We will remember and honor her life. She loved God, her family and her church. She wanted her family, both church and natural, to be Saved. She was the epitome of the virtuous woman described in Proverbs 31.
She is survived by her brother, Pastor Justus B. Morgan; three sisters; Mrs. Grace Garrett of Denver CO; Mrs. Anna Wallick of L.A., California and Mrs. Mary Lou Bland of Colorado Springs, CO and many generations of nieces' nephews, cousins and other relatives.
