On September 25, 2021 Ruth Marie Sansing passed away at the age of 72.



Ruth was born on December 22nd, 1948 in Bangor, Maine to Ed and Jane Shapleigh. Her family settled in Colorado Springs where Ruth attended Air Academy High School and received undergraduate and graduate degree from the University of Colorado. She married Michael Sansing and had one son, Jody Sansing.



Ruth was passionate about higher education and spent most of her career working in the Registrar's Office for the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. She loved her job and the fulfillment that came with assisting new students find their paths in life through education. She was an accomplished bookworm belonging to several book clubs and an avid sports enthusiast with unwavering support for her Colorado Rockies, Denver Broncos and CU Buffaloes. As a Colorado Rockies season ticket holder she had a baseball acumen second to none. Ruth was a friend to all and could be found most days hiking in the foothills, tracking down various new local food trucks for lunch, taking in the zoo and many area museums with various groups.



Ruth was preceded in her death by her father Ed, and her mother Jane. She is survived by her son Jody, three grandsons Michael, Jake and Cole, two brothers Jim and Ted and one sister Jenny. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 21st at 1:00 – 4:00 PM in at the Stonehaven Event Center, 7875 Deer Hill Grove, Colorado Springs, CO.
