Ruth Elizebeth (Everson) Young, age 97, passed away on August 26, 2025. She had been a resident of Colorado Springs for 49 years. She was a retired Registered Nurse.
Ruth was born on January 16, 1928, to Joseph Martin Everson and Violet (Bateman) Everson in Cheyenne Wells, CO. She married Carl Dean Young in Denver.
She graduated from Presbyterian School of Nursing in Denver in 1976 after raising her family.
She is a 70-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, serving 3 terms as Worthy Matron. She also enjoyed her 8-year membership in the Sons of Norway. Ruth loved to travel and enjoyed several trips out of state with her family to camp or just be a tourist.
She is survived by her 3 daughters: Claudia Sue Young (Monte Vista, CO), Stephanie Dean Livingston (AZ), and Beverly Ann Beasley (Colorado Springs); son-in-law, Leonard Beasley; brother, Alonzo Everson (Sand Springs, OK); five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
A memorial service will be held at 10AM on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at Viking Hall, Sons of Norway, followed by a brief reception. Private graveside service will be at Fairview Cemetery in Cheyenne Wells.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruth's memory may be made to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, 610 Abbot Lane, Colorado Springs, CO 80905.
