Sally Delonay Obituary

Sally Ann Delonay, 80, of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully April 21, 2010. She was born in Wausau, WI, March 25, 1930 to Marvin and Leona Holub. Sally married Ken Delonay, August 28, 1949 in Wausau where they lived until moving to Colorado Springs in 1975. She was a bookkeeper at Walgreens and retired after 25 years. Sally enjoyed going motorcycle riding with Ken, “sitting in the sun, playing Bridge and spending time with her grandkids and great grand kids. She was also an animal lover, and all animals she encountered loved her. She would be known to risk her own safety to rescue a dog in traffic. Sally's family are all left with many great loving memories of her. Her family in Colorado Springs will always remember “gg bringing donuts on Saturday morning and sharing pink frosted donuts with her. Her family in Washington will always remember her visits with the smell of chocolate chip cookies baking and the best bologna sandwiches in the world! Sally was a loving, caring, person and will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband Ken, daughters Jamie Beard, of Colorado Springs, Kathy Backstrom (Steve) of Zillah, Washington; and her grandkids, Sarah Jonlick, Mike Beard (Marianne), and Katie Irion, (Justin), and her great grandkids Zack and Zoe Jonlick., and Mick Beard, who was like a son to her. WE LOVE AND MISS YOU ‘GG' A special thank you to all the great staff at Cedarwood HealthCare Center and Dr. Ruskey. A Celebration of Life will be held at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80910 on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 2:00.
