Samantha Isun DeBorja was born January 29, 1972. She departed this earthly life on April 13, 2008. Samantha graduated from Fountain Fort Carson High in 1990. She also leaves a host of other relatives and dear friends. The visitation will be held on Sunday, April 20th from 4:00- 7:00 p.m. at Angelus Chapel Funeral Directors, 2535 Airport Rd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910. It is all still shocking to know the loss because I have never lost anyone that I have known like this. It took a while for it to register in my mind.
To my dearest cousins, you definitely know that my family is here for support.
All I can say is that heaven just got a lot sweeter. I love you guys!

To the Crutcher & DeBorja Families~
I just found out about this tragic loss a few days ago when I ran in to Anthony. My heart and soul has been so saddened for all of you. You are all such a beautiful and strong family and I pray that the days will get easier for you. I know from spending so many years close to your family that losing Samantha is like losing the diamond from the ring. Please stay strong and stay united.

To Samantha~ I know that it had been sometime since we had seen each other, but I remember one day this past December I saw you and James at JC Penny's. It was so early and I was so surprised to see you. I could kick myself now for not stopping to give you a hug and say hello! None the less, you will be in my heart and I will continue to pray for your family.

Mr Crutcher, Anthony, James, Essie, Michael, CJ & Johnson you are always in my thoughts & prayers!

To the family of Samantha Isun DeBorja, my 1st cousin.

Dear James, Michael, and C.J.,

God is the God of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. May God continue to comfort you all in your time of need and healing. Whatever I can do to support you all, I am just a phone call a way. I will continue to lift you all in prayer.

Love,

Your Cousin Carolyn

Samantha, I miss you so much. We've been blessed that our parents raised us all to be close and involved with each others lives. It hurts knowing that you're gone but I know you are still with all of us. I can feel your presence as I write this. And you're still the loudest one in the room. :-) Your time with us will be remembered and celebrated. I love you!

To James: You are truly a brother to me. Thank you for treating my sister like a queen. She was always so happy and I know you had so much to do with that. You made her life great. I could see and hear it every time I saw her or spoke to her. We all rest easier knowing that Michael and CJ have you as a pillar to lean on and to continue guiding them in life.

To my nephews Michael and CJ: Every time I look at you I see your mother. Words cannot describe how proud she was of each of you. What an unbelievable job she did in raising you both. It is so hard to deal with this loss but knowing that each of you knew exactly how much your mother loved you makes it a little easier. Always know that your family is here for you. We will grow stronger in time. I love you fellas.

It's hard to find the right words to say at this moment. I still can't believe that Sam is gone. Lean on the Lord for he will give you strength. Debo, I know you may not understand God's plan but just remember he will never leave you nor forsake you.

Deacon Crutcher, Essie, Anthony, James, Michael, and Christopher. My heart is heavy for all of you, my love and prayers are with you all. Its taken alot for me to pull up and read this obituary. I have been fighting the fact that I will never see Sam's smiling face or hear her voice again in this lifetime. After 17 years of going through so much and being so close to someone we were always together even if we were half way across the states from each other...we always managed to see each other no matter what. To have someone in your life snatched away like this is almost cruel, I have so many mixed emotions... I don't know how I'm feeling from one day to the next. The one thing that I am mad about is not being home when she had told me several times I need to move back home, and at a time like this I still couldn't make it home. All I know is anyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting Samantha even once ...never forgot her because she left that lasting impression, she was definitely loved by those who knew her genuine personality, and her being so pretty was a bonus. I know hse loved her husband James, and was alwas praising the boys Michael, and my godson Christopher. I have so, so, so, many great and crazy fun memories with her over the years...they'll always stay with me, as she'll always stay with me. There'll never be another Sam. She was my sister, my rock, my very best friend in the world, and everyone's Destiny...and I will never ever let her go. I love her so much!! The one thing that gives me comfort is knowing she is with her mother walking with God in all his glory. The Lord will get all of us threw this if we just believe in him. Put it in Gods hands. Bless You All.

To All of Samantha's Family -- I worked with Sam a number of years ago at Ft. Carson -- she always had such a happy spirit. Her boys were the joy of her being and she was always so proud of you both; as well as being a loving wife. I hope you find peace in knowing that she is with God now and He will heal your pain and suffering in time. God bless and keep you all.

I met Samantha during her visit to Kansas City when she was pregnant with Michael. She had such an innocence about her. I will always remember that smile...it lit up the room. To the family...may God give you the needed strength and comfort to get through your time of bereavement.

Samantha (Destiny to lots) was the kind of person that could make your day brighter in just a smile or a few words. She was the person at the party to make everyone welcome. I meet about 3 years ago and was brought into her relm or friends with open arms. She was one of those people that you were proud to know and happy to have in your life. She was an amazing person and an amazing mother. Her kids and husband were her life. If my daughter grows up to be even a quarter of the woman Samantha was I would be truly honored and proud. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends right now. She will be missed and never forgotten.

Samantha's smile was one that would brighten even a stranger's day. Although I am saddened that I didn't get to know her as well as others, I realize I am blessed to have had the chance to exchange the few words that I did over the past year. May God be with her family in their time of grief.

Dear Crutcher/Deborja,Family,
There is such a sadness in my heart for the loss of Samantha. My friend of 24 years. That girl was such a blessing in my life. She was such a joy to be around and could pull so many people together. People you hadn't seen in years, she would find and bring together. She had so many friends and people who just simply adored her because of her beaming personality. I know for a fact that her greatest joy was you, her family. Michael and CJ couldn't find a bigger fan than their mother. She would always call or text whenever there was an event or milestone in the kids lives. She would even text when Michael would score in Football or Basketball, or when he got his drivers license. She was very proud of her boys. James, she found the right one in you and I'm truly grateful. She loved her Daddy. Essie and Anthony you made her laugh and I felt the closeness of your family. I loved Samantha dearly and I will miss her greatly, but I know she also loved God. She walking around heaven with Mrs. Crutcher and Our Lord and Savior and that gives me comfort. I pray that this too will bring you comfort. May God Bless you and keep you.

Love Always,

S.C. Sheppard

Deacon Crutcher, I was devastated when I learned to Samantha's death. She introduced us once several years ago at her home. I met Samantha on June 30, 1998. Everyone was moving into their new homes, when we moved in Samantha
was standing in her front yard smiling and waving. When I finally waved back, she walked down and introduced herself. She was always so funny. We laughed alot when we were together.Infact when I bought Kisha a new puppy for her 7th birthday and after a week of hiding him, the day of the party he still had no name. It was Samantha's sense of humor that named him. Her reply was
"Just give him the all Americian dog name Max, and that's what he was named Max. We reallly missed them after they move away but, she always managed to keep in touch by, phone, pictures, visits, etc. James, Michael, CJ these memories also go to you, and all of the family. Samantha is going to be truley missed yet she will always have a special place in my heart. My Prayers and Love goes out to you all and May the Blessings and Peace of Almighty God be with you all through this trying time. It's just a test. God Bless You today, tomorrow, and forever.

I want to send my heart felt sympathy to Essie and her brother-in-law. Although it has been years since I have seen Samantha; I remember seeing her just starting on her journey. Michael was a handsome one year old, and Samantha had met her handsome soon to be husband. Before I knew it she was married and joining the Navy, and taking care of her family. I was so proud of her when Essie came out to visit me in California, and told me how much Samantha was really growing up. For a minute I got to peer in the window and see her blossom and from her families remarks in the paper it seems she blossomed into a beautiful flower. I regret that I will not be attending the funeral but my parents and brother will be there in my place. Essie this has upset me more than you'll ever know, and I think you should know that you're very loved and many of your friends from college are praying for you and your family during this tragic time. Word definitely travels fast. My family and I will continue to pray for you and yours because it is prayer that will lift you up and help you through this.

Love always,
