Dear Hesselberg Family,

I personally only spoke with your Sam maybe a few times but he was a friend to my son Derek who played hockey with Sam on the Palmer team last year. Derek and all of our family were deeply saddened when we learned of Sam's passing. As a parent myself I could no way imagine what you guys are going thru at this time. We attended the services for Sam at Palmer and he was oh so loved by many people and oh so deeply loved by his family. Sam will be deeply missed by all. Sam and the rest of your family will always be in our thoughts and prayers for always.

Rest In Peace Sammy Boy!!!!!!

Dear Hesselberg family,
I was so saddened to learn of your beautiful Sam's untimely death. I will always remember a beautiful tow headed little boy at Ruth Washburn who had a great smile. Lee, I'll never forget seeing you at RWCNS just after Christmas '97 and you relating how Sam had been a bit bummed (but then with typical Sam equanimity recovered quickly) that Santa didn't bring him a ride in toy Jeep (I think a neighbor child had a Barbie one) and how we shared a laugh and smiles over that. Know that there are many holding you and the family close in our hearts and thoughts. I ache for all of you and send love and sympathy.

Sam and I have gone back to the beginning of our time when we would act like rascals and terrorize people, he brought out the best in me and in so many others. The boy with the golden heart, beautiful soul, and shining personality that the world is missing. I miss you so much Sam and I am more than grateful to say that I was one of your best friends. Your perfect in every single way and I long to see you again. You and your family are in my prayers. Thank you for blessing me Sam. I love you so much. Always and forever

Dear Hesselberg family,
So very sorry for your loss. Sam was a great young man. He was so easy to be around. I don't know how else to describe it other than to say he had "it". I knew the first time I met him on the ball field coaching at Palmer he was an exceptional person and would be very easy to be freinds with.

Dear Steve, Lee, Brad, and Matt... I am so sorry.
