Samuel Slaughter Obituary
Born on October 2, 1932 in Newport, Washington, he was the son of Henry and Dorris Slaughter.
Sam was preceded in death by Elizabeth, his loving wife of 50 years. He is survived by one sister Margaret (Dave), and daughters Marilyn, Allison, Stacey (Doug) and Diane (Jeff), son Stephen, 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, one grand-dog and one grand-kitty.
Sam joined the army at 17 and was a veteran of the Korean War serving as a missile maintenance expert, retiring after 20 years as a CW3. He then started businesses Custom Forms, Custom Micro, and Action Printing which he ran for 25+ years. He was active in Sertoma. Post-retirement, he dealt blackjack in Cripple Creek. He and Beth resided in Colorado Springs for 45 years where they enjoyed RVing, bowling, reading, and attending baseball and football games. Sam also enjoyed card games and visiting wild animal sanctuaries.
Sam will be greatly missed for his love of family, his sense of humor, his adventurous spirit, and his gentle and easy-going nature.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the Atrium of the Grand Valley in Grand Junction.

To all the Slaughter siblings, we wish we could have made it to the memorial but things just didn't work out. Your Dad was in our lives for a long time and we had many happy memories of our many family reunions with he and your Mom. He will be greatly missed but long remembered.
