Samuel Terrell Obituary
Sam enlisted in the US Air Force in 1951 and retired in Colorado Springs as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1971. He then went on to work at Sales Training Institute (STI), a Real Estate Broker and as a General Contractor. In his spare time he enjoyed working out at the gym, bowling, attending social events and supporting NAACP organized events.
On January 5, 1954, Sam married Louverne Pennington in Columbus, Mississippi and to their union they were blessed with 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Gwendolyn Collins and brother Owens Terrell, Jr., whose wife Joyce of Daly City, CA survives.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Louverne; daughters: Beverly G. Bell (James), Karen R. Terrell, and Sonia F. Roby (Theron). Sons: David Ben-Abraham aka DuWayne Terrell of Israel and Karl A. Terrell (Desiree). Sisters: Lena Tuttle (Martin) of San Leandro, CA; Barbara Smith (Wilber) of San Francisco, CA; Francine Banford of Newark, CA; Deborah Harrison of Irving, TX. Brothers: Wiley Terrell (Nanita) of Rancho Cordova, CA; Arthur Terrell (Joyce) of San Bruno, CA and Harold Terrell (Elaine) of Irvine, CA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great-grand children and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Monday, November 11, 2013 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 East Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 4925 North Carefree Circle, Colorado Springs, CO 80917. Burial to follow on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 11:30am at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO.

Mr.Terrell was such a kind man. I will cherish all my childhood memories of him for life. My prayers go out to the entire family,may you all find comfort knowing your loved one is resting in peace! Mr. Terrell may be gone ...... but he will live forever in all of our hearts! I am TRULY blessed to have known such a kind and loving man!!!!! Rip

To the Terrell Family. I want to say that our family is Happy to have Celebrated the Life of Sam and your entire family over the past 39 years. He will be missed but never forgotten because of who he is and how he always treated, helped and respected others. With the utmost compassion and friendship.

Mr. Terrell was such a wonderful man. When my wife and I moved to Colorado Springs he sold us our home. Because of the positive experience and his honesty, we searched him out to sell it. He was a quite, honest and gentle spirit. He will be missed. Our sincere condolences to his family.
