I worked with Sam in the 80's at the City of Colorado Springs. Sam was a great guy, a quiet and gentle soul.
My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

Sam was a dear friend and I miss him. We hiked and camped all over Colorado. We also traveled to France and to Oregon to visit the Fosters. After retirement we also had lunch about once a month and played a game called Carcassone. Since I moved to Nebraska in 2018 I have not seen Sam but we talked on the phone.

First, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family. I am so very sorry for your loss.
I worked with Sam at Colorado Springs Utilities for many years and he was such a pleasure to work with. Kind, patient, smart beyond compare and witty! He could come up with some of the most brilliant solutions to issues and problems that were presented during a meeting. He might need some time to ponder on it, as Sam was that way, taking issues back to his desk and planning out a wonderful resolution to any problem.
And boy, did he love a potluck gathering! I believe he could fill all six foot and some of him with a little bit of everything. And everyone loved it, knowing he was a bachelor and loved home cooked food.
I just loved to see him laugh and smile. He was a beautiful, smart human being who added so much to our work team. He will be missed! God Bless you Sam!
