Sandy and I graduated in the same class from Alamosa High School. We went through elementary school, junior high, high school, Brownies and Girl Scouts together, and I remember a 20-mile Walk for Mankind during which we talked the whole way. Sandy was patient, compassionate, funny, and was never a follower. My heart goes out to her family, as she was taken from them entirely too soon.

Sandy had strengths that amazed us all. She could bear hardships and carry burdens, but at the same time she could hold happiness, love and joy in her heart. She could smile when she wanted to scream, she could sing when she wanted to cry. She would cry when she was happy and laugh when she was nervous or stressed. She would fight for what she believed in. She would stand up to injustice & not take "no" for an answer when she believed there was a better solution. She was willing to go without things so her son and friends so they could have things better than before. She even would go to the doctor with a frightened friend for moral support and be there as a sister or mother to comfort them. She was able to love unconditionally and cheer when her friends got awards or was having a good experience with life. She was always happy when she heard about a birth or a wedding. Her heart would break when a friend died and she grieved at the loss of a friend's family member, yet she was reminding them to be strong when they thought there was no strength left. She reminded us that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart or a pain full disappointment. She reminded us that people come in all shapes, sizes and colors and not to be too judgmental. She would drive, fly, walk, run or call you to show how much she cared about you. The heart of this woman was what makes the world keep turning with joy, hope and love, compassion and positive Spiritual ideas to give moral support to all of us. She always had vital things to say and her actions showed us all every day that she had everything to Live and Give for all the right reasons. I just want her to know that We Will NEVER forget HER VAULEABLE WORTH TO US that are left
Who are missing Her already.
