Santiago Santistevan Obituary

Santiago "James" Santistevan, age 71, went home to be with Jesus on May 7, 2005 in Colorado Springs. He was born October 12, 1933 in Walsenburg, Colorado to Bernardo and Amelia Santistevan. James was a Colorado Springs resident since 1955. James was the retired owner of Jim's Professional Maintenance. He was a man of many trades and talents who was a very hard worker, primarily committed to supporting and raising his family. He was a loving husband to Adonisa "Mary" Santistevan for 51 wonderful years. With his wife, he raised five children: daughter, LaVerne (Tony) Funny, son, James L. (Angie) Santistevan, son, Dean Santistevan, son, Rod (Carmen) Santistevan, and daughter, Theresa (Keith) Spaulding. James enjoyed spending time with his family and his many friends. He spent many hours fishing and on long walks seeking treasures. He was a 25 year member of Victory World Outreach and was considered a strong father figure by many of the church members. He is survived by his wife; his children; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He also is survived by his sister, Mercy Sandoval and brother, Roger Santistevan, both of Walsenburg, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Dean. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at the Shrine of Remembrance. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at Victory World Outreach, 3150 S. Academy Blvd. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of James to Victory World Outreach for Christian Mission work in Africa.

Mary and family,

We are so sorry for your loss of Jim. May God keep your hearts in this time of sorrow. May you be comforted in knowing that Jim is free indeed and at home with our Lord. Jim was a precious man, and we will always remember him.
