Sarah Nelson Obituary

Sarah Jeanne (Wolfe) Nelson, age 80, passed away on May 13, 2012, in Scottsdale, AZ in her daughter's home. She lived in Scottsdale for many years. "Jeanne" was born January 19, 1932, in Newton, Iowa to Edward Wolfe and Egle Scohy, she was the youngest of four children. She moved to Minneapolis at the age of nine, where she grew up, later married and had three children. Jeanne visited Colorado when she was young and knew someday she wanted to live there and raise her children. In 1963, she eventually moved to Colorado Springs and called it "home". Jeanne worked for the Golden Cycle Corporation which started "Rockrimmon" and "Cripple Creek Mountain Estates." She enjoyed her work and made friends easily. It was there she met her best friend of 40 years, Harriet Graham. Jeanne loved the mountains and enjoyed camping and picnics with her children. She also loved cooking, shopping, fashion, travel and chocolate. She adored all animals, especially dogs and cats. She loved her Belgian heritage and fondly referred to it as her "Belgianess." But her greatest love of all was her children who she called her treasures. Jeanne is survived by her three children, Mark Hill of Colorado Springs, Christopher Hill and wife Cheryl Hill of Amboy, WA, Lori (Nelson) Burt and husband Christopher Burt of Scottsdale, AZ, her sister Lorraine Stachel of Bloomington, IN, six grandchildren, Matthew Hill, Summer Hill Lefler, Tricia Hill, Jonathon Hill, Casey Hill, Rachelle Burt and great granddaughter Drew Elizabeth Lefler. She also leaves behind her "four-legged" grandchildren, Azzi and Ellie of Amboy, WA and Zak and Zoe of Scottsdale, AZ. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2030 W. Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs, on Friday, July 6th at 10:00 am.
