Scott Huddleson Obituary

October 5, 1952 ~ March 24, 2008. "I have brought You glory on Earth by completing the work You gave me to do". John 17:14. Scott Alden Huddleson, 55, went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2008, at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born October 5, 1952, in Los Angeles, California to Homer and June Huddleson who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Paige Ann, and by his infant son, Ethan Andrew Huddleson. Scott grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from Westchester High School in 1970. He was a United States Air Force Academy Grad, Class of 1974. He spent 28 years in the military, primarily in Space Command. He was known as a man of integrity, investing his time not only in service to his country, but in the people with whom he worked. Scott married Joanne Darrow on June 11, 1977 in Los Angeles. He was a devoted husband to Joanne for more than 30 years. He continually displayed a meticulous dedication to his kids and later his grand kids as well as to one of his favorite obsessions: his trees! Scott had an insatiable appetite for life and learning. He was a student, a researcher, and a theologian. He enjoyed helping lead "Men2Men", a group that meets weekly at Covenant Presbyterian Church, which was often the highlight of his week. Scott wants to be remembered as a man who God strengthened through imperfections. He lived a transparent life and lead through example. Scott is survived by his wife, Joanne Huddleson; daughter Stephanie (and James) Ernandes; son Alden Huddleson and son Nate (and Tina) Huddleson; grandchildren Gabriele and Ethan Ernandes, and Zeke Huddleson; and his sisters Gayle O'Bosky, Karen Prittie, and Robin Prideaux. "We are all better for having known you." A memorial celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 5th, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2845 Parliament Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado, with a reception to follow. Private burial will be at the U.S. Air Force Academy Cemetery. A memorial site for Scott may be viewed at www.mem.com. Scott lived upstairs from me in the "Q" at FE Warren when we were lieutenants, and, in fact, allowed me to stay with him when I first arrived there in Aug, 1975. He was a great "Big Brother" in the Lord, and helped organize our Christian Singles Bible Study. We prayed a good deal about his upcoming marriage to Joanne and were so excited as he left our "Bachelors to the Rapture" group. I will always remember his zest for life and learning, his great sense of humor and his challenges to live for Jesus!

Scott is one of God's strongest followers. Cheryl and I remember the great times we shared with Scott and Joanne and the kids. We shared a small office at US Space Command with members of all the services and the joy and friendship in the group is my best memories in the USAF. Scott was one of the best reasons.

God bless the life of Scott and bless his family.
